Welcome to Hilltop Community Children's Center! We offer quality childcare for ages
6 weeks to 5 years.
We have partnerships with
Early Head Start, Head Start, PreK Counts, Pittsburgh Public Schools, COTRAIC, Allegheny County Office of Community Services, CACFP, Trying Together, the Hilltop Empowerment Collective, the Birmingham Foundation and more.
We accept donations and funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations. To donate while taking advantage of the EITC tax credit, please click the DONATE button above which will take you to a page with instructions on donation options.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Hours of Operation: 7AM - 5:30PM
Everyone must be in the door by: 9AM
If your child is going to eat breakfast with us, please be in the classroom by 8:45AM
If your child does not have wrap around, then preschool class runs: 8:30am - 4pm.
If you need wrap around care, see our Enrollment Specialist, Destiny to discuss fees and space.
We use the ProCare app for check-ins, messaging and daily activities. Parents must check their child in and out and respond to messages throughout the day from teachers and administration.
We accept subsidy from ELRC and CYF and private pay tuition. For more information, call for a tour.
Curriculum Preschool
All Preschool classrooms use a combination of FROG STREET and LEARNING BEYOND PAPER. They use carefully crafted Lesson Plans and Daily Activities to meet the developmental needs of each and every child that link to the learning standards for PA. Children learn how to problem solve with teacher scaffolding which pulls back as they become more independent. Classrooms incorporate social/emotional, gross motor, fine motor, sensory, STEAM, language, and math learning
Curriculum - Infants & Toddlers
Infants through Toddlers use The Creative Curriculum. Students learn concepts, terms and ideas taught using creative strategies. This engages learners and encourages self-discovery and continued interest. It focuses on social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language learning.
Teachers record observations on Teaching Strategies, holding conferences at least twice per year.
