Welcome to Hilltop Community Children's Center! We offer quality childcare for ages 8 weeks to 5 years.
We work with
Early Head Start for Infants and Toddlers.
We have both a Head Start and PreK Counts classroom for 3 - 5 year olds.
We will have a private preschool classroom in the Fall for over income families or children who don't meet the age deadline.
Infants through Toddlers use The Creative Curriculum. Students learn concepts, terms and ideas taught using creative strategies. This engages learners and encourages self-discovery and continued interest. It focuses on social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language learning.
Teachers record observations on Teaching Strategies, holding conferences at least twice per year.
HOURS
Monday - Friday 6:30AM - 6PM
All Preschool classrooms use the Learning Beyond Paper curriculm and Frog Street. They use carefully crafted Lesson Plans and Daily Activities to meet the developmental needs of each and every child that link to the learning standards for PA. Children learn how to problem solve with teacher scaffolding which pulls back as they become more independent. Classrooms incorporate social/emotional, gross motor, fine motor, sensory, STEAM, language, and math learning every week.
All Preschool classes start at 8:30am with breakfast! Programming runs until 4pm.
All children in the center must be in their classrooms by 9am.
If you are using wrap around care, we open at 6:30 and close by 6pm.
We use the ProCare app for check-ins, messaging and daily activities.
We accept subsidy from ELRC and CYF and private pay tuition. For more information, call for a tour.

Hilltop Community Children's Center is the only NAEYC accredited and Keystone 4 Star childcare center in the Hilltop area of Pittsburgh, PA. We offer quality care for kids 8 weeks - 5 years and 2 Preschool options for kids 3 - 5. Our center has a unique Family Support component that offers monthly parentental educational opportunites and family friendly activities. We help caregivers keep up with paperwork and doctor appointments and find resources needed for a healthy life.
We are currently raising $25,000 for building repair and maintenance. Our space is over 100 years old and is starting to show the wear and tear of the years. We hope you feel confident that your contribution will go toward a safe, educational space for kids and support to parents in the Hilltop area.
