About us
Hilltop Community Children's Center, formerly St. Canice Child Care Center, was licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare September 2nd, 1988, and has the capacity to serve 100 children. Because of our commitment quality child care, we typically only serve a maximum of 70 children from ages birth to eight.
Philosophy
Our mission as a private non-profit Center is to provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children while their parents are working, in high school, or in job training programs. We believe in a consistent developmentally appropriate environment where children can feel safe, explore, and learn through their play. We keep children safe, promoting principles of non-violence for all to learn.
It is our responsibility as caregivers and teachers to educate and provide an environment where the child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive/intellectual goals are met. Our staff are trained, caring individuals who intrinsically recognize the uniqueness of each child by treating them with respect and by serving as positive role models.
To encourage healthy parenting, we extend our services into the area of parenting support and education.
